The following contraventions have been addressed:
11010 – shelving rack is now secured to the wall
11200 – all hazardous products are now inaccessible to children
19070 , 19100, 19200 – child files are now complete
14020 – This contravention is being discussed today. The school age program is accessing their space through the 3-5 program and has practiced this method for several years. Licensee has provided examples of why this method is used and Licensing has recommended the school age program use a separate entrance to avoid walking through the 3-5 space.

Comments

On site today was the Licensee.
2 Staff on site today were caring for 14 children in the group child care 30 months to school age program.
Children had gross motor time in the gym followed by lunch.

Licensing discussed concerns of supervision and dignity of children in the bathroom for the group child care 30 months to school age program by the school age children walking through their space to get to the school age program space.
Licensing discussed alternatives with the Licensee along with the rationale of lesser program disruption and appropriate supervision.
Licensing recommends using the side door which opens into a communal hallway for both programs. This will allow parents to drop off their children to each program without walking through any designated play space and also allows for the parents to connect with their child's program teacher.
Licensee will present this option to parents as well as discuss with staff in order to maintain compliance.
Licensing acknowledges that in the Winter months, security of staff is a main priority which is a good reason to use the front door which has a peephole to identify callers. Facility also mixes groups for the first half hour of the day - this will not change.

Please submit a final response to Licensing with a plan moving forward by February 23rd 2018.
