Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated Oct. 03, 2023 there were 14 children and 4 staff (one arrived during the inspection) present. In addition, there was a practicum student present on-site. The manager also arrived on-site during the inspection. At this inspection, no contraventions were identified. This report was reviewed with the facility manager during the inspection.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following recommendations/discussions were provided:
- Outdoor playtime procedures
- Reportable Incident procedures
- Documenting which staff wrote the minor logs
- Continue to clean and sanitize the facility including toys, equipment and high touched surfaces
- Remove all items with an NPN / DIN # in the first aid kit, as parent’s permission is required before using these items on children. Mild soap and water can be used to clean any minor cuts or scrapes.
