Introduction

An unscheduled follow-up inspection to routine inspection #SHUN-BDKRQJ was conducted . Areas of non-compliance identified at the last routine inspection were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12160 - CCLR s.20(1) - The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation: Licensing observed that there is a person over the age of 12 that is ordinarily present on the premises of the community care facility that does not have a criminal record check (CRC) done. The Licensee informed Licensing that they have applied for the CRC but have not received anything yet.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all persons over the age of 12 who are ordinarily present on the premises of the care facility while children are in care have a criminal record check done.
Date to be Corrected: August 9, 2019.


Comments

At the follow-up inspection conducted today, July 29, 2019, there were 4 children and the Licensee/Manager present.
The Licensee has addressed all previously identified contraventions except the one noted in the violation section.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
Bouncy Castle - policy
Pick-up; informing parents of who the pick up person is.
