Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection -
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation: During the routine inspection ad the review of the children's files it was observed that one child identified as requiring extra support did not have a care plan on site. The staff on site said that she had created a care plan for this particular child last year but she was unsure if the care plan was updated. Upon reviewing the facilities file a psychoeducational assessment was available in the child's file. The assessment was created on March 28, 2021. A care plan was not available for the child identified as requiring extra support.
This is a repeat contravention from January 2022.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a care plan determining the course of action recommended by the physician and/or parents is created for all children requiring extra support.
Date to be Corrected: January 03, 2023
