Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation: The Manager name was not posted in the facility.

Comments

At this inspection dated April 5, 2024 there were seventeen children, five staff and the Manager present. At this routine inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The facility corrected this contravention at the time of inspection and therefore no further action is required. As part of this routine inspection a facility risk assessment tool was completed, and a copy will be provided.
The following items were discussed:
-First aid kits
-Location of emergency backpacks
-Children and staff files
-Arrangement of nap spaces
-Care plans

The following resources were provided:
-Epi-pen care plan resource and educational link (provided by email)

The inspection findings were reviewed with the Manager at the time of inspection and a copy of the inspection report and risk assessment were provided.
