103 - Failure to hold a valid permit while operating a food service establishment [s. 8(1)] Observation: Food store selling soft serve ice cream for cones cups and screamers. Single dispensing arm machine. The dispensing and/or sale of perishable foods requires an operating permit and all activities related to this must be reviewed and approved prior to issuance of the permit. The operation would change from a food store to a food service establishment under the food premises regulations. Corrective Action(s): Immediately stop serving ice cream in any way or form until approved to do so by this office. Make contact with this office for guidance if and when you want to recommence this service. Violation Score: 1

Observed operator serving soft serving ice cream. Freezers below -18 C cooling units less than 4 C. Mop sink in back area (fibreglass or plastic) the only sink available. Area should be cleaned up and any leaks fixed. Washroom sink tap should be fixed and liquid soap and paper towel (dispensers) present at all times. Call to discuss options related to operation of a food service establishment.
