Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed the following:
- Unsecured blind cords accessible to children (Corrected During Inspection)
- Unsecured shelving located above where the children play
Corrective Action(s): Licensee said she will remove the shelves
Date to be Corrected: February 5th, 2024


Comments

At this inspection, the above contravention was identified. Licensing provided a date for addressing the contraventions and is requesting a written response by February 5th, 2024 advising on compliance.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

The following was discussed:

· Backyard Maintenance
· Fridge Temperature

The information contained in the report was discussed with the Licensee and the report and risk assessment were written on-site. Licensing advised that copies of the report and risk assessment would be emailed to the facility.
