Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.


The inspection report was written on-site and details were reviewed with the Manager prior to writing the report. A copy of the follow up to routine inspection report is provided to the manager at this inspection.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: the fence in the back yard is in poor repair, the licensee has stated they have requested repairs be conducted but the landlord has not complied.
Corrective Action(s): please ensure the fence is repaired before using it again

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation: fire drills not documented for every month
Corrective Action(s): Licensee has stated that fire drill are conducted monthly but documentation not available to support
Date to be Corrected: please ensure all fire drills are documented by march 31,2023
