Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION):
Expired food permit decal present. Premises operating without a valid health permit. Hand delivered the outstanding fees letter to staff at time of the inspection.
Corrective Action(s):
Immediately pay the yearly permit fees of $150 or closure will occur. During the inspection, the fees of $150 was paid via cash.

502 - In operator’s absence, no staff on duty has FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent [s. 10(2)]
Observation:
At time of the inspection, none of the staff present possessed the FoodSafe Level 1 certificate. There shall always be at least ONE person working, at all times, that possesses a valid certificate. The owner possesses a valid (expires 2022) certificate, but was NOT present in the premises.
Corrective Action(s):
Have staff members register and successfully complete the FoodSafe Level 1 course. Schedule a staff member, who possesses the certificate, on each shift.

Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Coolers 4C; freezer was -16C; hot holding units 60C; and thermometers present.
- Hand sinks stocked with liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water.
- Quats sanitizer in cloth buckets and 3-comp sink was 200ppm.
- All foods stored in food grade containers; covered; labeled; date coded; stored in groups with proteins separate from RTE foods; and stored 6" off the floor on shelves or platforms.
- No expired foods in use or for sale. FIFO rules being followed.
- General sanitation level is good.
- No signs of pests.
- Surfaces are in good working order, smooth, sealed, durable, and cleanable.
- Hand delivered outstanding permit fees letter to staff. Fees were paid via cash.
