Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standard of Practice (DOLSOP). All care categories were assessed for compliance.

Observed Violations

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation: Licensing reviewed the attendance records and on a few days in February, one child was not signed out and on March 1, 2024 all of the children were not signed out. Corrective Action(s): The licensee said she will ensure that children are signed in/out every day. Date to be Corrected:

At the inspection dated March 22, 2024, there were 4 children in care with the licensee. At the inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed. A copy of the report and the corresponding Risk Assessment was emailed to the Manager.
