Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted on January 28, 2021 to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas were inspected for compliance.
A Covid-19 Risk screening assessment was completed with the facility prior to this inspection.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Upon review of 8 children's records, 1 file did not have a doctors name or phone number documented.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children's files are complete.

Comments

At the inspection dated January 28, 2021 there were 44 children and 9 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee will provide Licensing with a written response. Licensing will review the response. As part of this inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed and a copy was provided.
Licensing conducted a walk-through of the entire facility.

The following discussions were had with the Licensee:

· Covid-19 prevention Strategies
· Physical Facility
· Health & Hygiene

Licensing received an old copy of the Community Care Facility Licence to file at the office.

The information contained in the report was discussed with the Licensee and Licensing stated that the report will be emailed to the facility.
