The following areas were reviewed: Licensing, Physical Facility, Staffing, Policies & Procedures, Care & Supervision, Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control, Medication, Nutrition and Food Services, Programming, Records and Reporting
As part of the Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation .environment

Comments

There are a wide variety of developmentally appropriate materials in keeping with the traditional Montessori philosophy including language and math activities, activities of practical life, sensorial development and cultural materials. The children were seen to use math cards and counters, sandpaper letters, sweep leaves, use screw drivers, use continent maps with animals and make patterns with fine motor manipulatives. The manager stated that the children play outside daily and are physically active through out the day. Licensing discussed the requirement to have a screen time policy - there is no TV or screen time used at this facility. The caregiver was seen to get down to the children's level, speak in a gentle voice with the children and guiding pro social behaviors (speaking nicely) and giving encouragement, "good job".

There is evidence of on-going monitoring to ensure compliance to the legislation.

Immunization poster was provided today.
