Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: CCFL observed the following:1) there were paper products on top of the stove
2) one of the emergency exits was blocked by a stack of cots

Corrective Action(s): These two items were addrssed during the inspection.

Comments

There were 22 children and 5 staff present today.
There was one contravention and it was addressed during the inspection.

No action is required by the facility or Licensing Officer.
As part of Routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed and a copy was provided.
