Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The inspection decal on the fire extinguisher expired in July 2022. Fire extinguishers, smoke alarms an smoke detectors are currently being serviced and Licensing saw service persons conducting fire safety maintenance work.

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated August 17, 2022 there were 11 children and three staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. As part of this routine inspection, a facility risk assessment tool is completed and a copy is provided. This report was reviewed with the manager and written off site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the manager.
