Comments

The Active Play Standards of Practice was provided and discussed today and the upcoming requirement to have the two policies in place for the fall of 2017; Active Play Policy and Screen Time Policy.Discussion was had around the ECE Certificate Verification tool that is available on the MCFD web site.

There is evidence that the licensee practices on-going monitoring to ensure compliance with the legislation. The caregiver was seen to have respectful interactions with the children; gentle voice, getting down to their level, assisting in problem solving and pro social behaviors. There is a wide variety of developmentally appropriate materials for all ages.

The backyard has had a significant upgrade with bark mulch being added around and under the play equipment.

Materials left today: Active Play Standards of Practice, LIVE 5210 Outdoor Games Booklet, For families: Great Little Bites handout, Foods for Kids 3-5 Year Olds, Canada Food Guides, Is Your Child Safe Sleep Time? and the Water Safety Bulletin.

Thank you for your assistance with this inspection.
