Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance with the exception of records and reporting.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation: Licensee observed a toddler size bike with rusty handle bars
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the childrne do not have access to any object that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

Comments

At the inspection on June 23, 2021 there were 3 children and 1 staff present
At this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed off site and a copy was provided.

The following education was provided:
- Ensuring that anything with a DIN number is removed from the first aid kit or labelled 'for staff use only, unless permission is obtained from families.

During the inspection, Licensing reviewed any findings with the manager.
