Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).
All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance. Apart from the following areas: Group Child Care (school age) program in session.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Summary of Inspection

At today’s inspection there were 9 children and 2 staff present. 11 children were attending earlier in the Group Child Care (school age) program and had left for school. 27 children are currently enrolled.

At this inspection no contraventions were identified.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed and a copy was provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided through discussion:
- Temporary Placements and inspections - discussed application received today which will be approved based on inspection assessment.
- Active Supervision reminders
- Reportable Incident reporting to Duty line: #604 587 3936 for emergencies if area Licensing Officer can’t be contacted. Facility is aware of the requirements.
- Minor incident log book is recommended to be a bound book to ensure integrity of information.
- Attendance records - clearly labelled for 'out' times for the school age group.
