Introduction

A scheduled follow up inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).
The purpose of this inspection was to follow up on how contraventions have been addressed from routine investigation inspection # KFIH-B9RNHG

Contraventions
Previous Inspection -
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: It was observed that the change mat has rips in it and so cannot be sanitized. This is a repeat contravention.
It was also observed that the smoke detector was chirping repeatedly while Licensing was on site, which could indicate that service is required. Corrected on site.
Licensee stated she would replace the change mat today.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all equipment is clean and in good repair.
Date to be Corrected: July 26, 2019

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated July 26, 2019 there were 6 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified.
The Licensing officer and Licensee had a discussion that only 7 children can be on site at any time, including the upstairs of the premises and also includes any children who are family members.
It was also discussed that the attendance is a record that needs to be recorded in pen so that they can be kept for the required number of years and cannot be altered.
The contraventions from the routine inspection have now been addressed except for those noted on contraventions.
Visit the CCFL website at www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare for additional resources, and links to the Legislation (CCLA and CCLR).
