Contraventions

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: A climber on the toddler side did not have sufficient clearance. The concern is that if a child was to fall backwards when going up the steps they could hit their head on corner of the post. The Director of Licensing Standard of Practice- safe play space, recommends a 6 foot clearance. The manager advised that the climber will either be moved to different location in the classroom or taken out of the classroom.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a healthy and safe environment at all times.
Date to be Corrected: Aug 23, 2019

STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: Licensing reviewed 6 staff files and observed that immunization status was missing for one staff.
Corrective Action(s): Please obtain immunization from staff prior to employment.
Date to be Corrected: September 3, 2019
