Comments

There were 4 staff present for the inspection. The staff who was assisting with the inspection is new to the site and has been orientating for 1 week. She informed writer that she and the manager both attended the most recent workshop for Nutrition Planning which occurred at the Poirier Recreation Centre last week. The staff stated she and the present manager are in the midst of re-working the menu, reviewing the audits and don't expect to be finished for 2 weeks. The Canada Food Guide was reviewed with the staff from the perspective of licensing to identify numbers of food groups for meals and snacks. A copy was left with the staff. There were some deficiencies noted for numbers of food groups in the current menu, but these are expected to be corrected during the review.
New blinds are noted to replace damaged blinds from last year.
The staff records were not available for inspection by the LO. A check list was left for the staff qualification and a request to forward to the manager/head office and forward the information to this LO. The information received will be reviewed for compliance with the legislation.
There are 3 regular residents living in the facility at present with one respite resident who stays occasionally.
I want to thank the staff for assistance with this inspection. This home appears clean and well organized.
