Introduction

All care categories were inspected during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/:
• the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA)
• the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR)
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practices (DLSP)

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: CCFL reviewed all children's files. 1 child lacked his PHN.
Corrective Action(s): All requirements of s. 57 must be obtained by children's 1st day of care.

Summary of FIR #CGEE-C4VM9B (12/Jul/2021)

1 violation was observed today, in which corrective action includes obtaining a child's PHN.

Licensees & employees play a key role in protecting children from, & minimizing the impact of infection & illness. CCFL discussed hand washing, cleaning, & physical distancing as per the BC Centre for Disease Control & the BC Ministry of Health's "COVID-19 Public Health Guidance for Child Care Settings" (http://www.bccdc.ca/Health-Info-Site/Documents/COVID_public_guidance/Guidance_Child_Care.pdf).

The inspection was reviewed w/ the licensee; however, this report & the Facility Risk Assessment Tool were written @ the Burnaby Health Protection office & emailed to the licensee on 13/Jul/2021.
