Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): - Liquid handsoap dispenser is broken in the washroom for staff and no handsoap was available
- Handsink in back prep area was blocked with utensils and was not available for washing hands
Corrective Action(s): - Repair the soap dispenser. Staff member was able to buy small dispenser bottle and was placed in the washroom
- Donot store any items and utensils in the handsink and ensure that all designated hand washing stations are available for handwashing at all times.

Observation: Food (olives) were stored in open metal can
Corrective Action(s): Once the can is opened and seal is broken, do not store any food items in the metal can. Transfer the contents to a food grade container

Observation: One of the two prep coolers at the front is not working, ambient air temperature of the cooler is measured at 12C. Only cut vegetables(onion, tomato, cucumber, olives and lettuce) are stored in the cooler
Corrective Action(s): - Store small portions only in prep cooler that will be used within two hours.
- Call for service and ensure that the cooler is capable of maintaining temperature of food less than 4C

311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: Small countertop deep fryer was bring used in the back area and all grease laden vapor were observed in the back prep area
Corrective Action(s): Do not use deep fryer without the exhaust system, you can only cook food including deep frying under the exhaust canopy with fire suppressant system. Remove the deep fryer from back kitchen area

Comments

Routine inspection conducted and following are observed:
- Handsinks in front area and back prep area are supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towel.
- Walk-in cooler, drinks cooler and prep coolers are maintained at less than 4C.
- Wlk-in freezer measured at -18C.
- Hot holding units for donair meat and rice are greater than 60C.
- Sanitizer solution is available in spray bottles; concentration is measured at 200ppm chlorine residual.
- Food storage practices are satisfactory
- FOODSAFE level 1 certified staff is present on site, expiry date on certificate is Sep 2, 2026
- No evidence of pest activity, pest control measures are in place.
- General sanitation is satisfactory
