Comments

-Handsinks were properly supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
Note: Operator informed a replacement paper towel dispenser is on order at the handsink in the back area. Ensure to install a wall-mounted paper towel dispenser in good working order at this handsink. In the interim, continuing keeping a paper towel roll on the shelf above this handsink.
-Operator's commercial high temperature dishwasher had been recently repaired and installed next to the 2-compartment sink. Previous dishwasher on lease had been removed from the food premises.
-High temperature dishwasher in use at the food service establishment had a final rinse temperature was at 78 degrees C (minimal required: 71 degrees C) at the plate level.
-2-compartment sink was supplied with hot and cold running water. Two sink plugs were available.
-100 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available inside two spray bottles in the front service area and back kitchen area.
-Stera-sheen chlorine sanitizer was available on-site to sanitize the interior surfaces of the gelato maker with 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer.
-Ice machine was in a clean condition. Ice machine is drained, cleaned, sanitized, and air dried on a weekly basis according to staff.
-It was reviewed to wash, rinse, sanitize, and air dry blender jugs and in use utensils at least every 4 hours between use and after final use each day.
-No signs of pest activity were evident at the time of inspection.
-Refrigeration units were at 4 degrees C or less.
-Freezer temperatures were satisfactory. Display freezer in the customer area had signs posted over the display freezer doors to inform customers to not open the freezer doors and ask staff for assistance with the cakes inside it.
-Refrigeration units were equipped with thermometers.
-No hot-holding was occurring at the time of inspection.
-Operator on shift held valid FOODSAFE Level 1 equivalent course training (FoodSafetyTraining.ca Food Handler Certification Course, expiration date: February 5, 2027).
-Permit to operate was posted.
