Comments

During today's inspection the Licensee had not taken the children outside to play. Licensing discussed with the Licensee the legislative requirement to have children play outdoors even when it is raining. See section 44(3) program of activities of the Child Care Licensing Regulation. The Licensee said she takes the children out in the afternoons. Licensing reviewed the handout with the Licensee from the BC Centre for Disease Control in which it recommends to have children outside often during the COVID 19 pandemic. The Licensee said she will take the children outside both mornings and afternoons.

Due to the current COVID 19 pandemic this report was reviewed with the Licensee during the inspection. This report was written off site (time spent: .25) and a copy of the report was sent to the Licensee.

The following resources were also sent to the Licensee: BC Centre for Disease Control resource entitled "COVID 19 Public Health Guidance for Child Care Settings - dated July 8, 2020" and the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice - Active Play.
