Introduction

An unscheduled follow-up inspection to routine inspection #SHUN-BCSV3K was conducted. Areas of non-compliance identified at the last routine inspection were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed the following;
- There is a rusted nail sticking out of the bottom panel of the outdoor wooden fence located on one side of the play area.
- The pea gravel resilient surfacing under 2 slides appears sparse and not sufficient. Licensing provided education on the importance of having sufficient resilient surfacing under climbing structures.
This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

Summary of Inspection
At the follow-up inspection conducted today, August 19, 2019, there were 21 children, 3 staff and the Manager present.
The Licensee has addressed all previously identified contraventions except the one noted in the violation section.
