Introduction

An unscheduled/scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing of Practice (DLSP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated October 10, 2023 there were 36 children, 8 staff and the manager present. At this inspection no contraventions were identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following conversation was had:
- during the routine inspection of the play yard, it was observed that the cement holding the pole for the fence had an edge coming out of the wood chips. The cement holder was covered by a table. Manager said she will get somebody to cover the cement holder so it is no longer exposed.

The following was discussed:
· Medicated wipes – education was provided regarding the use of medicated wipes and their use only with parental permission
· Temporary Placements and Exemptions
· Lead in the Water – flushing the pipes to remove any impurities before using the drinking water
