Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Fire Extinguisher has not been serviced annually.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that fire extinguisher is serviced and tagged once per year.

Summary of Inspection
At today’s inspection there were 4 children and the Licensee present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Licensee is required to take corrective action to bring the facility into compliance. As part of this Routine Inspection, a walk through of the home was completed. This report and the facility risk assessment were reviewed with the Licensee onsite and a copy was provided via email.
