Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Coolers 4C or colder; freezers -20C; thermometers present; temperatures recorded daily; and monitored by alarm system (ADT) if temperatures exceed level.
- General sanitation is good.
- No signs of pests. Contract with "A Plus Pest Control Ltd" to monitor every 2 weeks. Reviewed reports, ensure to follow all recommendations made by the pest technician.
- All surfaces in good condition, sealed, and cleanable.
- Light level in the walk-in-freezer was low. This makes it unsafe for staff as they can't see what they are doing, and it makes it difficult to clean as it is too dark to see the dirt. Operator explained that they are in the process replacing the lights with LED lights and waiting for grants from BC Hydro.
- Place liquid soap and paper towels dispenser at an accessible sink in the repackaging area (old Kimchi processing area), so staff can wash hands prior to handing vegetables.
