Introduction

An unscheduled routine/ focused inspection was conducted. All newly licensed facilities in Fraser Health receive one routine and one follow up-inspection to ensure they are maintaining compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: the following areas are in need of repair or replacement, the wooden edges is need of repair, the pony wall in the 3-5 room is in need of repair,the carpet in the toddler room is in need of replacement , manager has already order one, the gate is in need of cleaning and reinforcement. the kitchen counter is in need or replacement or repair
Corrective Action(s): please ensure the above are repaired or replaced

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation: the following areas in the facility are in poor repair and in need of replacement or repair,the bolt on the air conditioning unit need to be flush with the apparatus, the artificial turf is a tripping hazard in areas needs to be secured
Corrective Action(s): please ensure the above noted areas are repaired

The inspection report was written on-site and details were reviewed with the Manager prior to writing the report. A copy of the follow up to routine inspection report is provided to the manager at this inspection.
