Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: The door in the bathroom leading to the storage room was left open
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Date to be Corrected: Ongoing

STAFFING: 12190 - CCLR s.22(2)(b) - A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.
Observation: Fire drill practice was not recorded for last month.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure a system is developed to capture monthly documentation and implementation of fire drills.

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated February 13, 2022, there were 7 children and the staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contraventions.
