Introduction

An unscheduled follow-up inspection to routine inspection #EGAU-BNHSAS, dated April 09, 2020 was conducted. The areas that were not reviewed at the last routine inspection were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed a standing lamp that was tippable.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the lamp is secure.

STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: Licensing reviewed one staff file and observed that they were missing record of a criminal record check (CRC).
Corrective Action(s): Please obtain CRC clearance letters for staff prior to employment.

Comments

The above noted contraventions were identified and dates for correction was provided. Licensing is requesting a written response by September 28, 2020 advising how the contraventions have been addressed.

As part of this inspection, a COVID- 19 Infection Control Assessment was completed and a copy was provided.

The information contained in the report was discussed with the manager. The report was written off site and a copy will be emailed to the facility.
