Comments

A routine inspection was conducted of the kitchen inside this child care facility. Premise is generally very well maintained and operated and is in excellent sanitary condition. The following was noted at time of inspection:

1. Temperatures
- Stainless steel stand-up cooler at 3C
- Stainless steel stand-up freezer at -18C
- Thermometers present
- NOTE: It is a good practice to maintain temperature logs and dishwasher final rinse logs daily

2. Hygiene and Sanitizing
- Designated hand wash sink inside the kitchen is stocked with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and single-use paper towels
- QUATS dispenser releases 200 ppm QUATS, spray bottle in kitchen measures 200 ppm QUATS
- High-temperature dishwasher sanitizes at a final rinse cycle of 72C at the plate (Min: 71C)
- 3-compartment sink available and ready for use with drain plugs
- Utensils, bowls, plates are maintained in excellent sanitary condition and are well organized inside the kitchen

3. Storage Practices
- All food products are stored at least 6" off the floor
- Dry storage containers are well organized inside a designated cabinet. Products such as flour are fitted with containers with tight-fitting lids
- Chemicals are stored separately from food products in janitorial area

4. Pest Management
- No evidence of recent, visible pest activity noted at time of inspection
- Door gaps are well sealed, no gaps noted underneath

5. Administrative
- Permit posted and up-to-date
- Chef has FoodSafe 1 (Expiry: March 2023)
