Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation: Vegetable peeler soiled with food debris.
Correction: All food equipment, food utensils and food contact surfaces must be cleaned of all debris, then sanitized after use. Food equipment, utensils and work surfaces in constant use for the same purpose must be cleaned and sanitized a minimum of every 4 hours or when changing uses.

Employee does not wash hands properly or at adequate frequency [s. 21(3)]
Observation: Staff observed washing their hands while still wearing single use disposable gloves.
Correction: Food handlers are to wash their hands with warm water and liquid soap for 20 seconds and afterwards dry their hands with single use towels.
When foodhandlers use disposable gloves, new clean gloves must be worn following a handwashing procedure. Gloves are to be discarded after use. Gloves are to be changed after they have become contaminated or when changing duties would lead to cross contamination.
Comments

Both upright freezers have been re-organized, raw meat items are stored together in the bottom 2 levels of shelving for both units.

Open single use containers not observed stored in locations or in a manner that could lead to surfaces becoming contaminated prior to use.

Rice spatula in use, stored in clean, dry container.

Food items / containers stored within cooking line coolers are properly covered with fitted lids or plastic wrap.

New vegetable peeler observed stored in a sanitary condition. Ensure food utensils are cleaned and sanitized after use.

Storage shelving has been cleaned.

Ice machine interior has been cleaned.

Reviewed handwashing and safe use of disposable gloves.
