Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12140 - CCLR s.19(4)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation: One of seven files checked certificate validation had expired.
Corrective Action(s): (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Manager validated the certificate and was included in the staff file.

Comments

At the inspection dated November 14, 2022 there were 10 children in 3-5 classroom with four teachers, 9 children in Infant room with four teachers and 4 children in toddler room two teachers. Licensing met with the manager. At this inspection, above noted contraventions were identified.

Having one registration form for children either the FH registration form or the one designed by the facility.
Repayment Agreements in the Child Care Facility.
