HAZARD RATING FOR YOUR FACILITY: Low (≤15) Total Score = 18
Critical Hazards: There are no critical hazards.
Non-Critical Hazards: Total Number: 2
304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Rodent droppings are still observed in the following areas:
1) Inside the walk-in cooler along the walls and underneath the skids, particularly near the corners of the cooler
2) Behind the two wooden barrels near the peanut storage area
3) Aisle 6, behind the flour skids and along the corners
Corrective Action(s): Remove all rodent droppings with 1 part bleach, 9 parts water. As stated previously, work with your professional pest control company to monitor for droppings and to seal off holes and gaps behind the walls. Metal plating has already been placed in store aisles, which is already an improvement. However, doors continue to be open and need to be shut when not in use (especially at the back warehouse area).

Date to be corrected by: Nov 1, 2019
Violation Score: 9

305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
Observation: 1) Door of walk-in cooler has a large gap at the bottom (repeat issue from previous inspection).
2) Back receiving area is constantly open throughout the day.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Cover the gap at the bottom.
2) Back receiving area needs to be CLOSED when not in use. The back warehouse area is affected by rodent activity, and it is important to shut the doors to prevent rodents from entering the facility.

Date to be corrected by: Nov 1, 2019
Violation Score: 9

Follow Up to "Critical" Violations Noted on Previous Inspections (if applicable): No corrections entered
Comments

Pest activity is still present throughout the facility. Although measures have been made in the past to address rodent concerns, including hiring a pest control company and boarding up walls of the store with stainless steel plates, there continues to be a level of rodent activity in the area.

New professional pest control company will be subcontracting a worker to address / fix the holes in the facility. An additional follow-up inspection will be completed in early November. Failure to address aforementioned, persistent rodent issues may result in the issuance of a correction order.
