Introduction

A scheduled follow up inspection to inspection #LPEN-BQXN7F was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of identified non-compliance was inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12050 - CCLR s.19(1)(b) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation: 1 of 2 employees did not have evidence of character references.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that each employee has character references.

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated July 14, 2020 there were 6 children, and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above contraventions were identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer by July 22, 2020. The Licensing Officer will review the response. This inspection was written off site and a copy was provided to the facility.
