washrooms sinks and toilets operational and sanitary supplies available
Processing area (peeling/cutting):
Hand washing stations are operational, accessible, and properly equipped with soap and hand drying (paper towels).
Ware washing station (for buckets, cutting boards and knives) next to the hand washing area - bleach available as sanitizer
Sanitizer in pump style container - not to be used food contact surfaces as it is not food grade (this can be used for other surfaces)
Bleach to be used for all food contact surfaces - bleach solution was diluted to 100 ppm/ test strip available.
New panels installed in the wash area that meet health requirements (smooth, washable, non-porous)
Cutting done manually by volunteers/ chopping machine also available
Flooring in production area in good condition.
Other side of the production area is storage of storage drums and room for storing metal rolling racks
Packaging area:
Wash area for trays on one side and dryer oven.
On the opposite side is the packaging area
Vent installed to reduce dust created when packaging the dried vegetables.
There is now only one line for packaging.
Pest control devices found throughout the facility.
Pest control is monitored by a contracted pest control company.
Storage barn:
walk-in cooler was at 1-2 deg C
walk-in cooler was at -25 deg C.
