Observation: 1. Mouse droppings noted around perimeter of warehouse near main processing area
2. Mouse droppings noted around racks of spice room
3. Live grain beetles noted walking on a row of spice pallets in spice room. 15 pallets of potentially pest contaminated product sitting in spice room on the floor.
4. Indian meal moths noted in traps only in warehouse - no moths noted flying around warehouse during inspection

Observation: -Live grain beetles noted on spice sacks on pallets on the floor in the spice room. Approximately 15 pallets are possibly contaminated with pests.

-All spice sacks have been stamped with "ETO treated" and a sticker noted "treated with ethylene oxide"
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all contaminated food (spices) are removed from facility to prevent possible spread of pests to other products in spice room and facility or treated to by professional pest control technician to prevent the spread of pests. Recommend all possibly contaminated products be moved out of facility into a secure temporary storage space or removed completely from facility

Warehouse in operation - racks installed and in use

Renovations and additions proposed to City of Burnaby - waiting for approvals - no progress in renovations
1) Move change rooms and lunch rooms near existing offices.
2) Add large walk in cooler/freezer to outside yard - proposed plans received last inspection
3) Complete processing areas (3) with hand wash stations and additional processing equipment.

Pest control provided by Abell pest control - last 3 month reports reviewed - major concerns noted (violation noted above)

Food handlers wear hair nets, and uniforms.
Food protected - covered and stored off ground.
Handwashing: ladies change room and lunch room fully supplied with hot & cold water, liquid soap and paper towel

-Temporary walk in freezer container still in use by loading bay
-General sanitation satisfactory - full warehouse cleaning once a week
