Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13030 - CCLR s.22(3) - A licensee must display a copy of the fire drill system in a prominent place in the community care facility.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a posted floor plan but it does not indicate an emergency escape route. Licensing had a discussion about what information needs to be included in the plan.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a copy of the fire drill system is displayed in a prominent place in the community care facility.

Comments

At this inspection there were 10 children and 3 staff (including the Manager) present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The following was discussed/reviewed with the Manager:
- Obtaining a paper copy of the facility's policy and procedures for quick reference
- Behavioral guidance and care plans
- Student's care card information
- Hand hygiene
The contents of this report was reviewed with the manager and provided will be emailed to the facility.
