Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A cup of tofu product was stored uncovered on the shelf in the walk-in freezer.

Corrective action: Discard the cup of tofu product or cover the tofu with a lid or plastic wrap to prevent food contamination. Operator discarded the tofu product.

305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
Observation: During the inspection, a large gap was observed at screen door located at the back of the facility. This is due to the screen door not closing properly. Operator adjusted the back door during the inspection. There must be no entry points for pest in the facility. Operator informed that new screen will be fitted.

Corrective action: Screen door must be repaired / replaced to prevent entry of pests. Ensure to use durable and suitable materials for screen door. Ensure that door closes and seals so that no entry points > 1/4" are available.

Observation: (1) Newspaper and pieces of cardboard were used on the shelf to protect food / utensils stored underneath from being contaminated by items stored above.

Corrective action: Discard all newspaper and pieces of cardboard immediately. Newspaper and cardboard can not be properly washed and therefore can result in further contamination.

(2) A cardboard box was used to store pizza pans at the back dry storage rack.

Corrective action: Store all food utensils and containers in proper containers and covered to prevent contamination. Cardboard boxes can not be cleaned properly before re-using them.
