STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: CCFL reviewed the staff records and found that the licensee's criminal record check expired on August 6, 2019 and that a staff has a criminal record check from the RCMP. Staff must have criminal record checks from the Criminal Record Review Agency in Victoria.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that these items are addressed as required.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19140 - CCLR s.57(2)(h)(i) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (h) any special instruction respecting the child's diet, medication, participation in a program of activities, or other matter relevant to the child's care, (i) given by the child's parent to the licensee in writing.
Observation: CCFL reviewed the children's records and found that two children have medication, but the parent or guardian has not given written consent for the staff to administer these medications.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that you have signed consent from the parent to administer any medication to a child.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19210 - CCLR s.58(1)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.
Observation: CCFL reviewed the children's records and found that one child has medication on site, but there has been no diagnoses provided.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that a complete care plan is in place for children requiring medication.
