PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed the following;
- Two nails sticking at the bottom of the wooden fence along one side of the outdoor play area.
- A wooden panel loose creating a space where a child's finger can get caught and pinched in it.
- A dirty, wet rag on the grass outdoor area.
- The emergency door was open. The door leads into the Manager's private residence front door entrance area and the rest of the residence. This is a repeat.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children in care.

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation: Licensing observed two deflated soccer balls in the outdoor play area.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

STAFFING: 12210 - CCLR s.23(1)(a) - A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation: Licensing observed that one staff's first aid has expired in June 2023. The staff was unaware that their first aid had expired and works alone with children.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19320 - CCLR s.59(a) - In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation: Licensing was unable to review the facility's active play and screen time facility, as the Manager was unable to find it. Licensing discussed ensuring that all records remain in a single place at the community care facility.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that all staff, children and facility records are kept in a single place at the community care facility.
