Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11230 - CCLR s.47 - A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The hot water temperature in the washroom sink was measured out to be 56 C.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the hot water does not exceed 49 C.

Comments

At this inspection there were 8 children, 1 staff, the Manager and the Licensee present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The Licensee has corrected the contravention onsite, therefore no further action is required. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following was discussed/reviewed with the Licensee:
· Hot water temperature
· Contents of the emergency supplies
· Children's allergies
· Snacks being provided

The contents of this report was discussed with the Licensee and a copy was emailed on May 9, 2023.
