Introduction

A follow up inspection was completed to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Residential Care Regulations (RCR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR # have been corrected except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 33230 - RCR s.85(1)(b) - A licensee must do all of the following: (b) review and, if necessary, revise the policies and procedures at least once each year.
Observation: Review of policy binder containing policies related to Personnel, Environmental, Support services, and Nutrition reflect a review date of May 2016. Discussion with the manager was stated that policies are current but was missed for signing off.
Review of the Fire Safety plan requires an update with information regarding persons in care - a change which occurred approximately 3 weeks ago.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed at least once a year.

Comments

The following systems were reviewed at this inspection:
- Policies and Procedures, including emergency plans -2 fire drills a year now occur with the Fire Safety Company.
- Physical facility - one bedroom that was previously in use.
- Admission package - reflecting all fees and charges to persons in care.
