Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Large purple callus block is being cleaned, disinfected, and then re-used on another client.
Corrective Action(s): The large callus block is porous and cannot be properly cleaned and disinfected. Discard after each use or send home with client. Discarded used callus block during inspection.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Some absorbent nail files used on artificial nails and absorbent sanding bands (that cover drill bits) are being re-used.
Corrective Action(s): Absorbent items such as nail files and sanding bands are porous and cannot be properly disinfected. Discarded these items during inspection.

Comments

Services provided: nails (manicure, pedicure, foot bath, acrylic & gel nails), esthetics (waxing, facials.) No use of lancets or critical items ( no credo blades).
Infection Control Plan: previously reviewed.
Nails:
- Single use absorbent purple callus block is being disinfected - see above.
- Single use absorbent file and drill bit sanding bands - see above.
- Single use items (toe separators, buffing pads, etc.) for pedicures come in single client sealed bag or pre-packaged - discarded after each client - good. Extra are available on site.
- High level disinfectant used full strength and 14 days re-use tracked with calendar - cuticle nippers, nail clippers, cuticle pushers, and metal rasp callus remover. Items are washed first. Dry clean implements before disinfecting. Items then stored in clean cabinet.
- Foot bath - plastic disposable liner is discarded after each client and then footbath is washed and then disinfected with intermediate level disinfectant (T36 full strength - dry first before disinfecting).
- Hand washing sink available with hot/cold water, liquid soap, and single use hand towels. Clean up sink also available.
- 70% isopropyl alcohol used for nails.
Waxing:
- facial/waxing room has a hand sink. Hot/cold water, liquid soap, and single use hand towels provided.
- High level disinfectant used for tweezers - good.
- Single use wooden spatulas (discarded after each one time use) and single use waxing strips.
- Waxing pot appears to be clean.
Other:
- Disposable latex and also non-latex (nitrile) gloves used.
- Use all chemicals as per label for safe and proper use.
- Washroom - ok.
- On site laundry - using hot dry.
- General cleaning ok - ***Reminder to clean and disinfect the manicure tables and work surfaces between each client.
