Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: One of four files reviewed did not include the medical insurance plan number.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children's records contain all required information, including the MSP number.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19160 - CCLR s.57(2)(i) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation: It was noted that one of four children's files reviewed did not contain a photo or digital image.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that photo of the child is included in the child's file.

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated December 5, 2022 there were 4 children in care. Licensing met with the licensee. At this inspection above noted contraventions were identified.

The following was discussed or education provided:
To include the amount of screen time requirement in the Screen time permission form.
Repayment Agreements in Child Care Facilities
Including the reading area in the nap room was discussed.
