209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation: 1. **Note: This is a repeated violation** Bowls, with no handles, were being used and stored within bulk food containers.
2. Two containers of food were stored unprotected in the upright cooler in the back storage area.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Bowls were removed during the inspection. Please ensure to purchase enough proper dispensers (with handles) for the employees to use for dispensing bulk food. We must limit the chance of cross-contamination by limiting any utensils that have came into contact with the hands with food products. **Manager/ operator must check for improper utensils in bulk food containers to avoid this from happening again, any future violation of the same offence may result in progressive enforcement actions.**
2. Cover the two containers of unprotected food with lids or cling wrap. All food not in active-use must be stored protected with lid/ cling wrap when not in used to avoid unwanted materials from contaminating the food products.

Routine inspection conducted today:
Handwash stations accessible, equipped with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towel.
All refrigeration units were at 4C or below.
All freezer units were at -18C or below.
General storage hierarchy acceptable.
Hot hold units were holding food over 60C.
Sink & Surface Cleaner Sanitizer is used. Containers and spray bottle with this sanitizer noted pre-mixed and present in the prep and front of house areas. All noted with 700 ppm - excellent.
High temperature dishmachine was able to reach 71.0C at the plate level during the rinse cycle.
No signs of pest activities noted during the inspection.
Note: During the inspection, raw eggs were noted stored at room temperature, with no temperature control. As per operator, they used up the eggs fairly quickly during lunch rush. Moving forward, if large amount of eggs are stored in room temperature then there must be time tracking on the eggs to provide evidence that any eggs left out at room temperature for 2 hours are returned to a functioning refrigerator.
Operator is onsite at the time of inspection. FoodSafe level equivalent 1 certificate still valid (March 2, 2026).
