Comments

The facility was observed to have a wide variety of traditional Montessori materials including practical life materials, sensorial development materials, language, math and cultural materials. The children were seen to use phonetic language material, do geography puzzles, use sensorial building materials and practice independence by putting away their work, deciding upon which activities to do and independently put on shoes and coats. The teachers were seen to speak respectfully with the children (please and thank you), guide decision making, promote pro social behaviors during transition to lining up, read to the children at circle time and assist with activities and self-care. There is evidence of on-going monitoring to ensure compliance to the legislation.

Active Play and Screen Time policies were discussed. The manager will provide these to licensing. A cover for the sand box was also discussed.

Discussions were had around medication consent forms for medications and ensuring that care plans are signed by parents and dated.

Immunization poster was provided.
