Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12430 - CCLR s.56(1)(b) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].
Observation: Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and observed that the criminal record clearance letter was not shared with the facility for one staff. The name of another organization was referenced on the letter.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure criminal record check clearance letters are current.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation: Upon review of records Licensing observed that there was no record of last years emergency plan practice for the preschool or school age programs.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a record of the emergency plan practice.

Summary of Inspection

At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensing provided dates for correction and is requesting for a written response by April 24, 2019 advising on compliance with coded item number 12430. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
