Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing of Practice (DLSP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection -
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: During the inspection of the physical facility it was noted that the school where the facility is located was under construction. A safety plan was available, submitted to licensing, and approved my licensing and followed during the duration of the construction. However, it was evident that the fence of the playground has been removed and has been partially put back in place. There are large gaps under the chainlink fence and the chainlink fence has not been fully secured to the supporting bars.
Corrective Action(s): Staff spoke with manager over the phone and manager said that a conversation was had with the construction crew and that the fence will be repaired once the construction is finished. Please ensure that the fence of the playground is secure and no gaps are present.
